Unique Bi Luo Chun plantation

Location:
Dong-Shan of the Tai Lake, the Jiang-Su province of easten China – the original birth place of Bi Luo Chun.
Bi Luo Chun tea bushes are trimmed right back after each spring harvest. (Fig. 1)
During the summer and autumn, the tea leaves will grow and mature. These tea leaves are however not used to make fine Bi Luo Chun green tea. When the next spring arrives, the new sprouts will appear between these big leaves and the stem of the branch. (Fig. 2) Only these new shoots are picked and processed into the fine green tea.
At Dong Shun, Bi Luo Chun plants (front of Fig 3) are also planted among special specie of PiPa fruit (Loquat fruit) orchards (back of Fig 3). This tradition has been carried out for many generations. The farmers believe that the cross pollination add additional flavor to both the tea and the fruit. (Fig. 3)
