Pu-erh tea aroma types

There are various aroma types used to describe a Pu-erh teas:
Aged aroma
Once a green Pu-erh is produced, it is routinely stored for at least few years before its consumption (compressed or loose). The aging process gives an aged pu-erh tea a unique clean and age tea aroma.
Green aroma
The green aroma of a young Pu-erh is a fresh tea leaf aroma arises from a pu-erh that is just harvested and processed.
Woody aroma
It is the most classic aroma arises from an aged Pu-erh tea, similar to that of camphorwood.
Date aroma
It is an aroma arises from Pu-erh teas made from big and mature tea leaves. Date aroma is mostly common in ripened (Shou) Pu-erh.
Lotus Aroma
It is an aroma often presented in a ripened (Shou) Pu-erh tea made of 1-2 grade tea leaves, after a few years of dry storage aging.
Honey aroma
Most of the premium quality Yunnan arbour Pu-erh teas will have a pleasant honey aroma after 2-3 years of its production with adequate storage.
Orchid aroma
Pu-erh teasPu-erh teas made of grade 3-5 tea leaves, with aging the green aroma will gradually turn into a orchid aroma.
